Quilting is more than just a hobby; it’s a canvas for creativity and self-expression. Recently, I [re]released a favorite of mine—the Caved Quilt. Caved first appeared in Make Modern Magazine (Issue 39). This modern quilt offers a perfect blend of simplicity and style, making it a great choice for anyone from beginners to experienced quilters.
Keep reading to find out why the Caved Quilt is a favorite of mine—From its stunning features, size options, and gorgeous fabric, there's so much to love!

If you're like me, you love a quilt that is both quick to create and visually striking. The Caved Quilt delivers on both fronts with its repeating block design, ensuring that no matter which fabrics you select, the outcome is stunning.
One of the biggest reasons I love this pattern is that it's designed to be precut friendly. Using Charm Packs and Layer Cakes saves you time and cuts down on waste. PLUS, it is perfect for showcasing those prints you love and have a hard time cutting into!
This quilt comes in three sizes: Baby (36" x 48"), Throw (60" x 72"), and Twin (66" x 90"). These size options make it easy to create the perfect quilt for any occasion, a cozy throw for chilly movie nights or a soft baby blanket for a new arrival.

This pattern includes two unique design options: a traditional version and a scrappy version.
The traditional version features a cohesive, simple color palette. This style is perfect if you want a more polished look, ideal for matching existing home decor.
In contrast, the scrappy version invites you to unleash your creativity. By mixing various prints and colors, break into that collection you've been holding on to and create a quilt that reflects your personality. It's truly a great pattern to showcase your favorite prints and fabrics.
Now, the choice is yours, even thought you can't go wrong with either option!

Another reason I'm obsessed with this quilt has to be the fabric. Smoke + Rust by Lella Boutique for Moda was the P-E-R-F-E-C-T choice. I wanted a more masculine quilt that was aimed toward my boys. Don't get me wrong, I love me some florals, but my boys? Well, they wanted something more manly to curl up under. The natural earthy tones, the outdoorsy prints + features were, well like I said, perfect for this quilt.
So, what do you think?
