AGF Pure Solids Blog Tour

Updated: Jun 26, 2019

When my friend Elizabeth of Quilter's Candy asked me to be apart of a Blog Tour she was hosting, featuring Art Gallery Fabrics' Pure Solids I was beyond excited!

Have ya'll ever sewn with AGF Pure Solids before? they are beyond amazing. They have so many amazing colors that are smooth, vibrant, and crisp. I love that the fabric is slightly stiffer to work with compared to others, but then washes to the perfect comfy goodness that you want from a quilt!

Pure Solids used, from left to right: White Linen, Spiceberry, Apricot, Denim, Coral

Backing: Autumn Nectar Mist from Maureen Cracknell's Autumn Vibes Collection

So without further ado, here is my take on Elizabeth's new pattern, the #OverTheRainbowQuilt mini.

Don't worry, you aren't seeing double. I made TWO of these rainbows. Let me tell you why.

I was excited to create some curved piecing. Turns out, I'm terrible at curved piecing! Okay, not terrible but wanted it to be perfect, so I tried it twice! But I took a hint from @suzyquilts and threw out the word "perfect" and embraced every part that tested me and sat back and enjoyed what I made! Plus, now both my girls get their own mini. Win-Win!

I also found a way to embrace some quirks from my first go and ended up just rounding one mini, and am in love with how it turned out!

All in all, this pattern is super fun! Scared of curves? Don't be - embrace the challenge and explore a new talent! Elizabeth's instructions are easy to follow with great illustrations to help you every step of the way!
